McCall & Matt’s Unforgettable Spring Wedding at Hillwood Country Club

There are some weddings that stay with you long after the last photograph has been delivered. McCall and Matt’s big day was one of those.

Their April 26, 2025 wedding at Hillwood Country Club was filled with soft pink florals, elegant details, and a lively reception that kept everyone on the dance floor. But what I remember most is how many people were there to celebrate them.

Beginning with their wedding weekend at The Hermitage Hotel to their ceremony at Hillwood and the unforgettable send-off at the end of the night, McCall and Matt were lovingly surrounded by family and friends who were genuinely so happy to be there for them.

I’m also so happy that their wedding was recently featured by Style Me Pretty. Their story captures so many of the beautiful details that made this celebration special, and I loved seeing their day celebrated in that way.

A Joy-Filled Wedding Weekend Starting at The Hermitage Hotel

McCall and Matt’s wedding celebration began before they ever exchanged vows. The night before, they gathered with family and friends at The Hermitage Hotel for their rehearsal dinner, arriving by trolley and enjoying an evening together before the big day.

The next morning, McCall got ready at her parents’ home while Matt prepared at The Hermitage. From champagne with the bridesmaids to meaningful family details, both mornings were filled with excitement and anticipation.

I loved that the entire weekend felt like one long celebration with the people they love most.

Champagne, Family, and Special Moments with Freddie

McCall’s wedding morning was filled with familiar faces, champagne, and so many little moments that made the day feel personal from the very beginning. Her mom helped her into her dress, her sister helped with her shoes, and her bridesmaids gathered around her with champagne and plenty of excitement.

One of my favorite moments was McCall’s first look with her dad. It was such a sweet moment between the two of them, and one I was so happy to be there to photograph.

Matt’s morning had its own personal touches. His dad helped him with his cufflinks, which were custom-made with Freddie’s face engraved on them. He also had a childhood photograph of himself and his dad sewn into the lining of his jacket.

And, of course, Freddie made an appearance too, although he was much more interested in taking a nap on Matt’s tuxedo garment bag than getting ready for the wedding.

Those are the details I love most. The beautiful things are wonderful to photograph, but the little pieces of a couple’s story are what make their images feel personal.

First Looks, Letters, and a Quiet Moment Together

 After a busy morning, McCall and Matt finally had a chance to slow down and spend some time together before the ceremony.

Watching Matt see McCall for the first time was such a sweet moment. His face said everything, and the two of them immediately fell into the kind of natural playfulness that made them so much fun to photograph throughout the day.

They exchanged letters and shared a quiet toast with champagne, and they even had a few moments with Freddie before the ceremony. McCall also shared a special first look with her grandparents, creating another beautiful moment with the people who had come to celebrate them.

I always love these quieter moments before a ceremony. They give a couple a chance to step away from the schedule and simply be together.

A Romantic Outdoor Ceremony at Hillwood Country Club

McCall and Matt’s outdoor ceremony at Hillwood Country Club was the perfect setting for an April wedding in Nashville. Beautiful spring florals, soft pink details, and a string quartet created an elegant and romantic setting for their vows.

After all of the anticipation of the morning, there was something especially emotional about watching McCall walk down the aisle with her dad. Matt waited for her at the end, surrounded by the people they love.

And then, finally, they were husband and wife.

Their first kiss was followed by cheers from everyone around them as they walked back down the aisle together. The mood shifted instantly from the emotion of the ceremony to the excitement of knowing the celebration was just beginning.

Wedding Portraits Beneath the Magnolias

 After the ceremony, we took some time for family and wedding party portraits before giving McCall and Matt a little time together.

I also made sure to photograph the people who had been such an important part of their day—McCall with her bridesmaids, Matt with his groomsmen, and the two of them with their parents, siblings, and grandparents.

These are photographs I hope they will treasure for years to come. They aren't just portraits of the people who attended their wedding; they're photographs of the people who have helped shape their lives.

A Reception Full of Personality and a Whole Lot of Dancing

Once the portraits were finished, the day shifted fully into celebration mode. Cocktail hour gave everyone a chance to mingle and enjoy the beautiful Hillwood setting, and one of my favorite details was the signature Freddie’s Place cocktail, a sweet nod to a very important member of their family.

The reception continued the elegant spring aesthetic with beautiful floral-filled tablescapes, but there were plenty of personal touches, too. Matt had a Tennessee Titans groom’s cake, and they even had adorable bride and groom PEZ dispensers.

After dinner and the speeches, McCall and Matt shared their first dance before dancing with their parents. Then the party really began.

The band kept the dance floor packed, with guests laughing, dancing, and celebrating well into the night. McCall even joined in on a little limbo!

It was the kind of reception you hope for as a Nashville wedding photographer—not just beautiful, but full of genuine energy and people who were completely there to celebrate the couple.

One of the Most Memorable Send-Offs I've Ever Photographed

 By the end of the night, it was clear that no one was quite ready to say goodbye to McCall and Matt.

Their friends and family surrounded them as they made their way out of the reception, cheering them on and sending them off with what felt like the entire celebration following behind them.

After one last dramatic dip and kiss, McCall and Matt climbed into their getaway car, where they spent a few final moments hugging, smiling, waving, and blowing kisses to everyone they love.

Then they drove away surrounded a spectacular display of fireworks and sparklers.

This was truly one of the craziest send-offs I’ve ever photographed, but looking back, it couldn't have been a more fitting ending to their wedding day. McCall and Matt were surrounded by people who were genuinely so happy to celebrate them, and that feeling was there from the beginning of the weekend all the way to the very end.

It was an incredible day to photograph, and I’m so grateful I got to be there to document it.
