Mountain Elopement - Styled Shoot

September 12, 2018

I can't believe I am finally sharing this session! This was such a beautiful styled shoot all around! I will be honest, I'm still yet to plan a big fancy styled shoot. But since I wanted to dive into elopements, thought this would be the perfect chance to do it.

About the styling and theme: I wanted the focus to be on the couple. Even though this was a styled shoot, this is a real couple who is very much in love. I believe that most couples elope because they feel this is “their” moment. And that’s what I wanted to focus on. We kept things simple and romantic.

We worked with the natural beauty of Narrows of the Harpeth, a hidden gem in Kingston Springs, TN.

There was a bit of hiking involved to be able to reach this beautiful lookout spot. So our bride wore a simple Belle Poque gown and veil. 'Huntley M. Designs' earrings complemented the free spirited simple look we were going for. Our groom wore a nice and classic H&M suit.

The floral was beautifully made with White Dogwood also known as Rice flowers, by Kaitlin McGrath from Refuge Floral Co.

Tip: As mentioned before, a mountain elopement requires a bit of hiking. Our model wore tennis shoes all the way up the mountain for comfort, and then traded those for beautiful Steve Madden dusty blue shoes for her “something blue”.

While hiking up was a bit breath taken, the view when we finally got to the top was what really took our breath away! In spite the fact that we shot this on a summer day, on a 90 degree Tennessee weather, the breeze up at the top was absolutely amazing and the end result was worth every minute of it.

I'm so thankful for this shoot! Big thanks to my big time models Meghan & Tyler (who are now engaged and I actually got to photograph the proposal - stay tuned for a blog post coming up on that!). Another big thanks to Katelyn for providing the floral!

I can't wait to start planning the next styled shoot! If you're a wedding vendor or model and are interested in collaborating with me, please email me at mariagloerphotography@gmail.com.
